At Home Teeth Whitening: Does it Work?

Sponsored By Smile Brilliant

11/11/2019

Teeth Whitening has always been something I’ve wanted to do. But after years of drinking coffee and red wine, I thought my discolored teeth were a lost cause. I never would have dreamed that I could have the white smile I had when I was young. So when Smile Brilliant reached out to me to try their at-home teeth whitening system, I jumped at the chance. And after using the system for a few weeks, I can honestly say that I have the whitest teeth of my life.

Smile Brilliant was so easy and the results were so great that I couldn’t wait to write this post and tell you all about the process. Before I started whitening my teeth with Smile Brilliant, I didn’t know alot about at-home teeth whitening. There seemed to be so much misinformation out there.

So here are 6 facts that you need to know…

Teeth Whiteners Remove Stains – They Don’t Make Teeth White

Teeth whiteners like Smile Brilliant don’t bleach teeth. Instead they work to remove stains so your teeth can get back to their natural color, which are not necessarily optic white. Your teeth may have a natural yellow or grey cast – very few people are born with pure white teeth.

Results are Not Immediate

You may not get instant results with only a handful of treatments – everyone’s teeth are different. Some people see results within 4-7 days and some may need 10-14 days of treatment with Smile Brilliant before seeing results. And remember, your stains didn’t appear overnight so don’t expect them to disappear after just one treatment.

Teeth Whiteners Do NOT Harm Teeth

Studies done over the past 5 years have shown that lab direct whitening (such as Smile Brilliant) is safe and effective with minimal side effects. A small percentage may have tooth sensitivity (caused by tooth dehydration, NOT enamel damage) and gum irritation, but this disappears upon discontinuation or lessening the use of the Hi-Intensity Whitening Gel.

People with Sensitive Teeth CAN use Whitening Products

Since Smile Brilliant is a safe method for whitening teeth without enamel removal – anyone that wants stain-free teeth can use this product. Sensitivity is a possible side effect and use of the Desensitizing Gel may help. You can also decrease the frequency of use or stop the treatment.

Whitening Trays are Comfortable and Custom Fit to YOUR Teeth

With Smile Brilliant. I was able to make an exact mold of my teeth. The custom tray is made of flexible rubber and fits perfectly to the natural shape of my teeth. I wore the trays for over an hour at a time with no problems. I can do anything with the trays in and no one even notices I’m wearing them.

Home Teeth Whitening Systems are as Effective as Whitening at the Dentist

Studies are now showing that lab direct whitening (such as Smile Brilliant) done at home is similar, if not more effective than laser whitening at the dentist’s office. And with dentist-performed laser whitening starting at $500, Smile Brilliant is much more cost efficient.

As I already mentioned, the process was easy from start to finish. Here’s a rundown of what you can expect…

Step 1 – Make Your Mold for your Custom Whitening Tray

This sounds alot more complicated than it actually was! There are two different compounds that you need to mix together to form the base for the mold. It’s just like mixing two different colors of play-dough together. Once you’ve mixed your compound, just place it in the tray and bite down. It’s that easy! There are detailed instructions included with the kit so you really don’t need to worry about making a mistake.

Step 2 – Send Your Mold to Smile Brilliant

A pre-paid envelop is included in the kit. You’ll get your custom trays back in about a week.

Step 3 – Start Whitening

You’ll have received a syringe of both Whitening Gel and De-Sensitizing Gel. You’ll start by putting a small amount of Whitening Gel in the trays. It’s really quite simple and the instructions are very clear. Once you’ve placed the trays in your mouth, I would keep them in for 45 minutes. This is the minimum recommended amount of time and it’s a good way to gauge if you have any sensitivity. I increased my subsequent sessions to 1 hour and then up to 1 1/2 hours. I did find that I started to have a little sensitivity once I increased to 1 1/2 hours. So I backed off and took a few days between sessions.

Step 4 – De-Sensitizing Gel

This is an important step to do following your whitening session. You’ll simply rinse out your trays (I used my toothbrush to gently remove any Whitening Gel that was left) and dry them. You apply the De-Sensitizing Gel to the trays in the same way as you would the Whitening Gel. Leave them in your mouth for a minimum of 15 minutes. Once you’ve finished this step, don’t eat or drink anything for at least 30 minutes.

Step 5 – Admire Your Gorgeous White Teeth

Remember that everyone is different and it might take you a number of sessions to get your teeth where you want them. I can honestly say that I saw a massive difference after just one session. But that’s just me and your results may take a bit longer.

You’ll be looking at a minimum of 1 hour for the whole process. I set aside about 2 hours for myself since I was keeping the whitening trays in a little longer. You can really do anything during the whitening process, even talk. But I must admit that my speech was a little “off” with the trays in – so I wouldn’t suggest doing a conference call wearing them! But I went out to the store to run errands, did lots of work at home and talked to my family without any issues at all.

It’s so hard to find a product that delivers on what it promises to do, which is why I am such a huge fan of Smile Brilliant. This stuff works and I couldn’t be happier with the results!

Long time reader, first time commenter — so, thought I’d
drop a comment.. — and at the same time ask for a favor.

Your wordpress site is very simplistic – hope you don’t mind
me asking what theme you’re using? (and don’t mind if I steal it?
    :P)

I just launched my small businesses site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!) the site down quite a
    bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for “royal cbd” on Google (would
    appreciate any feedback)

Keep up the good work– and take care of yourself during the coronavirus scare!
