Daytime Sequins

6/5/2019

I have a daytime sequin jacket that is my go-to look when I want to make my jeans and sneakers feel a little more sophisticated. I love mixing an evening piece with my casual, every day look. For me, it just strikes a really great balance between comfortable and chic. The great thing about pairing sequins with a casual outfit is that you can go from day to night or casual to dressy by just swapping out your accessories.

This daytime sequin jacket look is 100% my style. I’ve worn versions of it countless times. The jacket is a random Zara purchase that I made ages ago at Heathrow airport while waiting for a flight. I really scored at that tiny little store because that’s also where I found a favorite pair of sandals that I featured in this post. The jacket is a gorgeous sequin pattern in blues, oranges and yellows. It has a little boho vibe and the sequins aren’t outrageously shiny so it has a very pretty, subtle appearance.

I decided to pair the jacket with my grey relaxed straight jeans – another Zara find. I really love the fit of these jeans – it quite hard to find a relaxed jean that still has a slim leg. Although these are considered high-waisted, they’re still a little low for me. I like my high-waist styles to sit at my natural waist so they don’t fall down. But I do love the dark grey wash and the slim leg is just perfect. My husband hates high-waisted jeans but I’m in love with the fit and they are so comfortable. I’m so done with wearing jeans that I have to keep pulling up.

I love the look of a simple, white linen tank under this jacket. This one is from Mango and I linked it below. It looks great on its own too. And since I’m obsessed with gold jewelry lately (check out a recent instagram post), these layered gold necklaces seemed like the right accessory. In fact, I think I’ve been wearing some sort of layered gold necklace situation in most of my recent posts here on the blog.

The belt I used is a woven gold leather with gold hardware. It’s from Club Monaco and has been  hanging in my closet for quite a while. It works perfectly to add just a bit of shine and texture.

I finished off this outfit with my Golden Goose mid-stars. They sit just at the ankle but aren’t quite a high top. I really love the look with ankle and cropped jeans. I’m a big sneaker addict, actually more of a comfort addict (which is why I love sneakers so much).

This really is the perfect look to dress up your jeans or dress down your glam. I’d just change the sneakers to some low-heeled, bare, white sandals to head out for the night. I’ve linked some great versions of this outfit down below. Take a peek and let me know what you think.

See you soon!
