The Search for a Leopard Print Skirt

12/14/2018

I’ve always been very suspicious of those crazy-cheap on-line clothing stores. You know the ones I’m talking about….they’re always harassing you on the side of every web page that you open up. But in my quest to find a cheap and cheerful leopard print skirt, I decided to check one of these operations out. So I hopped onto the Shein website and did a search for animal print. And I found this skirt for $17.00. Yes – you read that correctly – $17.00. After reading through their return policy 5 times, I decided I would take the plunge. Free returns and free shipping over $50….so I had to get a few more things to make this worth my time. And not only did this skirt work out but I scored a few other great pieces for next to ‘nuthin! I’ll be featuring some of the other super steals in future posts.

This is my go-to skirt to throw on with my sneakers, t-shirts, hoodies and all things denim. It’s the perfect midi length for me (I’m 5’9″) and I know I’ll be wearing it year-round. I love that it has an elastic waist but at first I was a little bummed about the fact that it’s pleated. But the pleats have grown on me and you could probably steam them out if you wanted to. I’m wearing a size large which fits more like a medium. Definitely size up for everything at these types of stores – the sizing always runs small.

For these pics I paired an old chambray shirt and my white Golden Goose sneaks. Here are some similar options for the shirt here and here. This option has ruffles – a little different than the pic but I’m completely obsessed!!  You can find a very close version of the sneakers here. And some less expensive options here and here. I shot these pics in my backyard in Brooklyn a few weeks ago. I had to include this beautiful Japanese Maple as the ultimate accessory. The leaves were the most incredible color and the next day they had all fallen to the ground.

See you next time!
