Striped T-Shirt
6/30/2019
My striped t-shirt is my absolute favorite summer top. This stripe covers all style bases – a little french, a little preppy, a little grungy and it goes with everything in my closet. I love pieces that never go out of style and this striped t-shirt has been a faithful fashion friend for many summers.
Initially I was going to do this post as a guide on how to style a striped t-shirt. But let’s be honest – who doesn’t know how to style a t-shirt? They look great with everything! I thought about some more updated looks like over a skirt, under a strappy slip dress or knotted with bike shorts or leggings. But my favorite way is a super casual look with it tucked into some relaxed jeans. It’s the ultimate warm weather outfit and it’s what I put on when I don’t feel like thinking about what to wear. So I decided to keep it simple and tell you a little about this easy summer style.

I found this striped t-shirt at Zara during a sale years ago. It’s quite oversized and loose which is one of the reasons I love it so much – when the weather is hot, comfort is key for me. I often wear a little cami or bramini with it since the neck is so wide that anything you’re wearing underneath is inevitably exposed for the world to see. I just stuck with a nude colored cami for these shots and I admit I did a little photoshop touch up to get rid of the strap in a few photos.

My loyal, relaxed, high rise jeans were the obvious choice for this easy outfit. I’ve been really loving light wash denim lately and these are the perfect shade for summer. They have a raw hem and sit right above my ankle. With just the perfect amount of destruction – I can either dress them up or down. My husband hates them – he is still not on-board with the high-waisted look. But I dress for myself and I adore them. I literally wear them every day!.

The accessories for this outfit kept the easy, casual vibe of this outfit going strong. I recently bought these super-comfortable, strappy sandals and they’ve become my summer go-to shoe. I just wrote an entire blog post about them, you can read it here. And here’s a link – they’re only $39 from Zappos. I love how they make my feet look tan which is always a plus for me! Lastly, I threw on a few hair clips for a little shine. I rarely wear my hair down but I’ve started to recently with the addition of a little hair clip glam.

And so here it is, a post about a simple, easy summer outfit that anyone can pull off. The best thing about a basic striped t-shirt is that you can find one at any price point. You can spend as much as you want but there are tons of great options under $50. I’ve linked some of my favorites below along with a few jeans, sandals and hair clips just in case you’re dying to get this whole look for yourself!
See you soon!
