Tie Dye

6/1/2020

When the weather starts to get warm, I always seem to have tie dye on my mind. Tie dye tends to come and go as a trend but I feel like it’s becoming more of a consistent summer style over the past few seasons – and I couldn’t be happier! Although I am a big fan of multi-color tie dyes, this season I found myself obsessed with a simple blue and white design that I could wear with my light wash jeans. There is something about light blue and white that screams summer. I think for me it brings to mind beaches, pools and a blue sky with white clouds – pretty much all I’m thinking about these days.

Often I picture an outfit in my mind before I have the pieces and this was definitely one of those times. I knew exactly what I was looking for in the style of blue and white tie dye shirt as well as the fit and wash I wanted for the jeans. After searching for a few weeks, I  finally found the perfect tee from Reformation. Not only is the design and color exactly what I was looking for but the fit is spot-on. It’s not too oversized but not too tiny and cropped. I was surprised that the medium was the perfect fit for me since I usually like to go with a size large tee with most brands.

As for the jeans, I ended up finding them a few months ago at Mango. They sold out quickly and I was so thrilled that I snagged them. I’ve been hunting for a pair of full length straight leg jeans in a light wash and this pair checked all the boxes for me. With so much cropped denim in the market right now, it was a bit of a challenge to find a full-length option that was under $100. At first I thought they were a little too destructed with such a large hole at the knee, but now I just love them. And the high waist is perfect for tucking in all the shirts I’ve been wearing lately.

Keeping this outfit really simple and summery was key so I threw on my low-top Converse to finish it off. I love the casual vibe of this look with sneakers. But I know that I’ll be wearing these jeans with a pair of naked strappy sandals and an oversized blazer too. And the blue and white tee goes with everything in my closet – I’ve been wearing it non-stop over the last few weeks.

Summer tie dye just puts me in a good mood – and we all need a little smile on our faces these days – right? If you’d like to re-create this look for yourself – I linked some tees and jeans below that have the same fresh light blue and white mood of this outfit.

See You Soon!
