My Top 5 Styles for Spring
3/21/2019
I am so excited to share my Top 5 Spring Styles that I’ve already bought with you! I’ve been obsessing on these pieces since the winter and I’m beyond thrilled to start wearing them now that the weather is warming up. Read on for all the details…
#1 The Plaid Blazer
Menswear styling is here to stay and EVERYONE needs a structured plaid blazer in their closet. This is no joke! The possibilities of how to style it are endless. Wear it with jeans, skirts, dresses – it works with everything. The key is to get a neutral colored plaid – I find either light grey or khaki work best. I always look for a plaid with a little pop of color to play off the neutral ground. Always so beautiful! And I love the longer length blazers that are in the stores now, they look especially cool when you belt them – I used my skinny black belt with metal studs for this look. The blazer I’m wearing in these pics is from Aritzia and you can find it here. Check out these other great options for plaid blazers…

#2 The Split Hem Pant
This look is a little more up-and-coming, but I’ve been loving it since I saw it at Zara last Fall. There are lot’s of cool versions of this style – leggings, pants and crops. I really love the slim leg silhouette with the flare bottom – tres chic! This pant style looks great dressed up or down. Lately I’ve been wearing these with my chunky sneakers as in the pics here but I’m really looking forward to pairing them with some low-heeled bare sandals or even some ballerina flats. I’ve linked some great versions of this pant below….

#3 The Trench Coat
I’ve had a love affair with trench coats for years and I am so happy to see that they are now a wardrobe staple. There are so many great variations on the trench out in the stores now. But my favorite is always the classic – which is what I’m wearing in these pics. Loose fitting, light khaki, below the knee length and oversized lapels. It’s just so comfortable and looks cool layered over any outfit. I wear mine rain or shine and I always feel put together when I have it on. There’s just something so cool and nonchalant about a trench vibe. If you don’t have one yet – take a look at some of my picks below…

#4 The White Relaxed Jean
I’ve been so into high-rise relaxed jeans lately! I’m always on the hunt for the perfect pair – the weight of the denim needs to be heavy enough (I prefer 100% cotton), the fit has to be slim through the hips and they need to sit at my ankle. For some reason I am not into full-length jeans these days. That being said – I love this pair that I’m wearing. They aren’t white, they’re heavily bleached down indigo – they have just a hint of color and I just adore the shade! The leg is slightly wider than what I was originally looking for but the hips are still slim so it totally works. They’re the perfect spring jean to wear with just about anything. Check out the below links for some of my favorites (including the one I’m wearing from Mango)…

#5 The Beaded Bag
There are so many cool versions of this bag out right now. I particularly love the smaller, crossbody style like this one. As you can see from the pics above – it works with every type of outfit. It adds a great pop of color to your look and there’s something cool and elegant about a beaded bag. I checked out a lot of different versions of these bags and although I love the larger, tote styles, they are quite heavy before you even put anything them. So I went for a smaller version and I couldn’t be happier. This particular one is from Zara and you can find it here. I found some other great options too – check them out below….

Bonus! – Straw Fedora
I’ve had this fedora for years – in fact, I stole it from husband! I literally wear it every sunny day – I just pull back my hair in low pony tail and viola! instant chic! It’s such a great accessory to have for Spring. Even though I didn’t buy this hat for Spring, it’s such an easy piece to elevate your look no matter what you’re wearing – I consider this an essential piece to have in your closet. I’ve included some links below for you to shop in case you don’t have one already…

I’m not sure which of these styles is my favorite – I love them all! The best thing about these Top 5 Spring Styles is that you’ll be able to wear them every year. There’s a classic element to these pieces that will definitely stand the test of time. Click on over to my say hi page and let me know if you have any of these styles in your closet yet!
