Spring Layers
3/16/2020
One of the ways that I love to dress as it gets warmer outside is in Spring layers. It’s just so easy to wear a few lightweight layers and peel them off as the temperatures rise during the day. As you may already know, I’ve been loving neutral colors lately – it’s such an easy trend to wear. And the best part about it is that everyone inevitably has some of these pieces already in their closet. It’s just a matter of wearing them together.

I decided to pull out 3 of my favorite neutral colored pieces for my Spring layer outfit. The first was my trench coat – what is Spring without a tan-colored trench coat to throw on? I wear one that is slightly oversized so that I can really use it layered over just about anything. I’ve had this one for a few years and whenever I wear it, I instantly feel a little bit chic. There is something so classic and cool about a trench no matter how you wear it.

There was a day when I never would have paired cream and white together in an outfit but this whole neutral color trend has really changed my perspective on wearing colors together. I just love how this cream colored blazer looks layered over a basic white button down shirt. It gives alot of interesting depth to a basic outfit. I found this blazer from Mango a year ago and it’s one of my favorites. The white button front t-shirt is from Zara last fall. It has an oversized collar that makes it a little more updated and modern. Normally I would have tucked in this shirt but for some reason it just felt right to leave it loose and untucked.

I’m not ready to give up my chunky white sneakers yet and I love the way they balance out this look. I paired them with some cropped dark grey jeans and I love the way the grey just continues the idea of the neutral colors more than a pair of blue jeans would. I’m a big fan of jeans and blazers and this is a perfect example of how I like to balance casual with just a dash of dressy.
